How to tell they are interested

It is entirely possible to over-think the process of dating. Having the confidence to start can be daunting enough, but then when you’ve met someone, how can you tell they are interested in you? Not everyone you meet is necessarily going spark that chemistry, but by listening to your gut instinct and checking this list, you might find the going a little easier:

      • They’ll keep in touch – if someone’s interested, they’ll be chasing you up, even if they like to think they’re playing it cool.
      • They’ll compliment you – of course they want you to think the best of them – how better than to heap praise on you?
      • They’ll be reliable – if they say they’ll do something, it will get done because they don’t want to disappoint you
      • They’ll open up to you – as we come to trust the people we like, we share more information about ourselves and our lives
      • They will listen – they’ll be there to support and give you their time
      • They’ll want to make plans to do things with you – for the next date, going away somewhere, maybe something a little more long term?
      • They’ll want to introduce you to friends and family – the excitement they feel about being with you is something they’ll want to share with those around them

Above all else, the number one way to tell if they are interested is that there will be no mixed messages If they’re really interested, you’ll know where you stand with them. There won’t be vagueness or uncertainty.

People quite often don’t listen to their instincts when it comes to potential dates but it is a powerful tool that won’t often steer you wrong. If you think they’re interested, and you can see the behaviours listed above, then give it a shot. The worst that could happen is that they say no – and even then, you’ll at least know for sure! Good luck.
